I have also tried drawing recently, but I am really not please with what I have done so far, plus I was more annoyed than happy to be drawing. Maybe I just need a subject, or I should just get rid of that idea that I should experiment and try to improve my skills. I never manage to be able to find valuable ways to exploit most of my time, so probably to get to drawing more would be an improvement. But I am not that convinced at the moment.

Good luck with your story, and thanks for the compliment (though I cannot help but marvel at what other people can draw and find most of what I have made so far rather pitiful). ^^
How do you pronounce your nickname? I have my character as "Kricks-oh-s and picked it out because it had the unusual K's and X's, and a nice, masculine R. I should warn you that he's kind of ugly but eight flavors of awesome. I'm going to borrow my friend's scanner this weekend to put him up.
as for your drawings, you have a good sense of anatomy and use of space, you just need to work on attention to detail and probably just draw for an hour a day to firm up your eye-brain-hand co-ordination.

As for my drawings, well, I am completely aware that I should practice a lot more but time is something I find hard to meaningfully exploit. I end up wasting most of it despite having a lot of different things I want to do, that require focus and dedication. But as I cannot seem to be able to prioritize them, I end up doing anything but these.
However, right now I am getting back to drawing somehow. But for the moment I am trying to study other people's pencil drawings, to see if I could learn valuable tips from these. Still, cheers for your helpful comment.
To be fair to the nuisance, the character was an obnoxious bitch of a prostitute that back-stabs her only friend for glory and tries to murder a small child to cover it up. i was considering severely altering the character anyway because she was a little reverse Mary-Sue-ish (evil in every way), but the person having gross objections (shallow and pathetic as they were) finally did her in.
as for finding time to practice, I have ADD and use drawing to cope. I find that drawing while taking notes in class really helps me concentrate, and I bring my sketchbook everywhere, so when I have a spare few minutes (riding the bus, getting to class early) I poke at a drawing. tasks that require my presence but no mental activity are the best, like guarding my laundry from panty thieves and attending charitable functions. My best ideas come from the laundry room, in fact. It's handy to have an answer to that stupid question "where do you get your ideas?".
Also, don't worry about everything turning out spectacular. from my last sketchbook of 200 drawings, only fifteen turned into finished pieces of reasonable quality, none of which I would submit to a portfolio. Last year I only got out twenty-two in total, despite doing probably a thousand drawings. Other than that, enjoy yourself and good things will come out.
